Living with Kingfishers.

Wymondham Kingfishers Jan 2022 I went for a walk on the River Tiffey footpath in Wymondham in early Jan, and was amazed to see a male Kingfisher sat on a branch taking in the winter sun! I had heard from a friend that one had been spotted, and knew they had nested there before, but great to see it within 10 mins of getting there! Mad march Hares getting frisky!

Spent a nice morning at Oaks farm with about 10 Hares chasing each other and getting amorous! I managed to melt into the background downwind of them with a long lens, and just enjoy watching them in the cold easterly wind. They were really active with lots of males chasing and fighting with a few females, amazing to see how fast they run and change direction....

2017 Norwich Peregrine family.

After catching the end of the Norwich Cathedral Peregrine Falcon season last year and seeing the last 2 fledglings of 4 fledge, (before unfortunately all dying), I have been visiting the site since march this year to see the full story unfold. On my first visit this year it was all action, the new female Falcon, GA, (so called because of her leg ring number) had just laid one egg and was fussing about on the Platform. The male (Norm!), or Tiercel, from the latin so called as they are a third smaller than the female, was   busy keeping a juvenile intruder at bay and stooping on it repeatably until eventually went.
