Lovely afternoon on the marsh yesterday, I got in position where the
owl sometimes comes to hunt and once behind my camp net I had to just wait and see. While waiting I saw a Marsh Harrier, Sparrowhawk, Heron with a Stoat, Lapwing and short eared
owl from a distance. As I clicked away with these other species I was hoping the
owl would show before the sun went down, and at about 3.30 it appeared! Instead of a quick hunt around and then going to the far side of the marsh, it stayed for around 30 minutes stopping now and then on different posts.
