Rushed over to Strumpshaw Fen when I heard the Swallowtails were there, good opportunity to try my new camera out. After seeing nothing for 2 hours, I went to a different spot and there were 2 or 3 feeding on the flowers there. A Beautiful sight in the sunshine, and managed to get some nice shots in among the paparazzi there! More photos in the gallery on my website, www.gbjphotography.co.uk...

Went to check out the Kingfishers at Thetford as Ive been away for a week racing in Barcelona, and the male is carrying fish to the nest now. (The EDP used the picture in todays paper!) When the birds have the fish this way around in their beak it shows that they are going to pass to another bird, as they always eat fish head first so fins don't stick in their throat. This fish is probably for the female sitting on eggs as its quite big, hopefully chicks hatch soon and ready to fledge in...

Managed to get these shots of the first flight away from the nest of the blackbird fledglings in our garden. They look so vulnerable as they hop about without all their flight feathers, and constantly chirp for food as their busy parents feed them.   ...
